In an increasingly globalised and interconnected world, Public Service Interpreting and Translation (PSIT) is facing unprecedented challenges. The 9th International Conference on PSIT (PSIT9) aims to delve into the complexities of contemporary society, marked by all kinds of crises (economic, war, migration, and environmental), technological advances, cultural diversity, and ethical considerations. It will ultimately focus on their impact on the changing demands of PSIT.

Translation, the language of Europe

“Translation, the language of Europe” is an exhibition promoted by the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission, on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency in the European Union, to highlight the contribution of translators and interpreters to European culture. This project would not have been possible without the selfless collaboration of a prominent group of specialists of the following institutions: Escuela de Traductores de Toledo (Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha); Grupo Alfaqueque (Universidad de Salamanca); Universidad de Alcalá; Universitat Pompeu Fabra; Speculum, Observatorio de Identidad Europea y Diplomacia Cultural; Instituto Cervantes; Oficina de Interpretación de Lenguas del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Unión Europea y Cooperación; and Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission.
